Affinities
Affinities are relationships between records that enrich how ACO discovers and filters options.
An affinity connects two records so ACO can reason about related options — for example, a product linked to a collection, or a shopper's recent view linked to similar products.
Two scopes in the console
- Feed Affinities — relationships between catalog rows (SIMILAR, COMPLIMENTARY, record groups for filtering).
- Profile Affinities — shopper activity tied to catalog relationships (VIEW, IN_CART, and similar online kinds).
Discovery rules pair profile affinities (what we know about the shopper) with feed affinities (how catalog rows relate). Filtering guardrails use feed affinity record groups to reserve or guarantee slots on a surface.
